Why hire a Lactation Consultant?
The simplest answer is this: Lactation Consultants provide information, best practices, resources and support and encouragement to help you achieve breastfeeding success – however that looks for you. You and your baby deserve the best nursing experience possible. While both babies and mothers are born with strong instincts that drive their desire to breastfeed, this does not always guarantee that breastfeeding will feel easy. Many mothers have asked the question, "if breastfeeding is so natural, why doesn't it seem to come naturally?" We understand that breastfeeding can be a challenging and emotional journey for new mothers and are committed to providing a non-judgmental and compassionate environment for you to discuss you concerns and receive support. With gentle and professional guidance, it is possible to achieve the feeding goals that feel right for you and your family. Whether it’s working with you before baby is born, in order to ensure the best start possible, or once baby has arrived, our goal is to ensure you and your baby thrive. We can also work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians and pediatricians, to ensure mothers receive the best possible care for both themselves and their babies.
Prenatal Consultation
When is the best time to seek breastfeeding support? You don’t need to wait to have your baby before seeking breastfeeding support. Early preparation and personalized breastfeeding education increase your chances of successfully meeting your breastfeeding goals.
Maybe you're a first-time mom, or maybe you didn't have the breastfeeding journey you hoped for with your last child. Receiving personalized guidance can help you plan for any scenario and feel confident no matter where your breastfeeding journey takes you.

Education can lay the framework to help new moms prepare. Though some mom’s successfully “wing it” especially first time, others feel better with stated goals and a clear plan. We can help you decide (and feel good about) how long to breastfeed, find a balance of breast and bottle, transition back to work and so much more.
