About Bloom Baby RVA

Colleen is passionate about helping new mothers, families, and their babies achieve their breastfeeding goals. With an extensive background both as a Labor & Delivery nurse and Public Health nurse, she loves partnering with women as they transition to motherhood. Growing from a desire to create a space where mothers can learn to trust their instincts, she established BloomBabyRVA in 2021.  Despite twenty years of experience in women's health, she is proud to say she still learns something new from each family she assists. 

In addition to her work as an independent lactation consultant, she also sees inpatients at Bon Secours Mercy Health St. Francis Medical Center.  Colleen has also served as a Prenatal Educator for the Bon Secours Richmond Market.  Certified in Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) she also supports infants with tethered oral tissues at The Center For Speech and Swallowing, in Richmond, VA. She actively engages with local and national lactation organizations, to stay current on the latest research and best practices. 

Colleen holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Virginia (Go 'Hoos!).   She lives in Midlothian, Va with her patient husband, four amazing sons, and the very best dog, Hazel. In her free  time she enjoys reading, yoga, hiking, travel, painting... and dreaming of having more time to do all of these things. 

Stephanie, a registered nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, began her nursing career in 2000, providing care for antepartum, labor, postpartum, and newborn patients. In 2015, she decided to channel her passion for both educating new parents and breastfeeding by becoming an IBCLC. With her extensive background in mother/baby care, she dedicates herself to empowering and supporting breastfeeding parents. Stephanie also serves as an inpatient Lactation Consultant at Bon Secours Mercy Health's Saint Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, VA. She earned her associate degree from Brightpoint Community College and her BSN from Virginia Commonwealth University. A lifelong resident of Chesterfield County, Stephanie enjoys life with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. Outside of her professional role, she devotes her time to gardening and managing several beehives. She continues to support breastfeeding families through Bloom Baby RVA transition to home and beyond.
